do you have a question?
What are your opening hours?
My opening hours are scheduled around my two little ones and during the school holidays they do change. However my current hours are generally Monday closed, Tuesday 9:45-2:45, Wednesday 9:45-2:45, Thursday evening, Friday 9:30-3:30 & evening, Saturday 9:30-5 / late, Sunday closed.
What is the best way to book a treatment and what if I want more then one?
On my booking system there is an option to leave a comment if you don't see the two or more treatments that you require. Please leave a note explaining which treatments you would like and I will email back to confirm or suggest an alternative date if I don't have enough time. Booking online is something many of my clients do and prefer, however if you do struggle for any reason or want to book with me directly you certainly can! Either by email, text / call or whats app / Instagram or Facebook. Outside of my opening hours my replies may be slow but I am always pretty fast at responding. Please don't ever hesitate to get in touch.
Which Manicure is best for my nails?
I offer various types of Manicures with gel or no gel to suit everybody. A Manicure with no gel is a polish which needs to have time to allow to dry and can last around a week - 10 days with the correct aftercare. A gel polish can be better suited to you if you are looking for something more hard wearing. A simple gel overlay is applied and cured under a lamp and is then dry and lasts for approximately 2/3 weeks. If you require more strength or find your nails dont last well with gel itself, a builder gel would normally be suggested. A builder gel is a product which is applied on top of the natural nail and applied thicker, so that the nail can grow and become stronger. It can feel harder then a standard gel manicure. If your nails are weak/brittle and thin, short and damaged then I would suggest a builder gel. A structure gel is slightly more flexilble then a builder gel and is also suitable for those with weak/brittle nails. I would recommend a structure gel to clients who want something stronger then a gel manicure but not as thick or hard as a builder perhaps. At Magpie beauty, they believe nail care is perscriptive and has a wide variety of options to suit all.
What can I expect when I visit you?
First of all, a friendly welcome and a smiley face! I will then take you up to my secluded and private treatment room upstairs on the top floor where you will first tell me about yourself and fill out a consultation form before we get started. I am professional, so I always try to be ready for my clients, my little ones are looked after when I am working and we will be undisturbed always during a treatment.
What should I do before treatments?
Before your treatment you should check to do's & not to do's right here on my website or within your booking confirmation. Within your booking confirmation there should be information for that specific treatment. Always check your junk mail as sadly they can end up in there! You should also receive an aftercare email post treatment, however if you have any questions at all please do ask.
What do I do before a massage?
Please remove all jewellery in any areas which we are massaging. I always recommend removing trousers and remaining in your underwear for comfort and this also allows me to properly massage the lower back if we are doing a back massage. Your modesty will always be protected should you feel nervous, I have plenty of linen & towels to keep you feeling comfortable. On the other hand if your someone who likes to come in and take your clothes off without a care, be my guest and make yourself at home!
I struggle with mobility, are there stairs?
Yes there are two flights of stairs and so the treatment room is not easily accessible unfortunately. If you struggle with stairs or walking my treatment room may be difficult for you to access.
Is there parking?
There is strictly no parking allowed outside on our driveway and this includes drop offs or pick ups. There is free parking at Victoria Park or the town or on New Road if you can get a space.
Do I need a Patch Test?
If you would like Tinting, LVL, Lash Extensions then yes. If you haven't had any of these within 6 months you will need to be patch tested again.
I am pregnant, what treatments can I have?
I am currently not trained in Pregnancy massage so the only massage option that would be suitable would be the foot massage as the others require you to either lay on your front or your back. I would recommend the foot massage, Pedicure or Manicure or both! A facial also requires you to lay on your back and Nouveau Lashes do not recommend any lash treatments during pregnancy. Waxing is permitted as long as you and bump feel comfortable to do so.
